Job Description: What You’ll Do
Summary:
The Assistant Director of Business Operations is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and technical guidance while managing staff focused on improving efficiencies of NTTA processes through extensive use of Business Intelligence (BI), Geographic Information System (GIS), Program Management (PM), data analytics and process modeling. This position assists with the leadership and coordination of Business Operations Department services be the liaison for between the Operations Departments (Information Technology, Contact Center and Collections, Customer Care, Business Operations) and other NTTA Departments business as it relates to the roll out, training, utilization and expansion of NTTA’s data warehouse and business intelligence, platform geographic information system, revenue assurance, artificial intelligence, analytics and reporting, and Toll Service Agreements. Working with each NTTA department, the Assistant Director of Business Operations will assist in providing enterprise-wide services and support for data analytics/reporting, geographic information systems, and artificial intelligence to increase efficiencies and customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Assists in directing and overseeing all aspects of maintaining and improving the cost reduction and revenue enhancement efforts. Works with staff to integrate outputs into other initiatives (e.g., invoice generation estimates, budgeting, staffing).
* Serves as a liaison between Operations staff and other NTTA departments for the GIS, data warehouse and business intelligence platform.
* Guides staff as they liaison with agency departments for the development of the data warehouse and business intelligence platform.
* Supervises continued development of Software Design Life Cycle (SDLC) process, quality program, and management metrics.
* Supports the development and mentoring of the team of operations project managers and analysts.
* Provides strategic oversight of staff as they utilize data analytics and process modeling to identify process improvements and greater efficiency.
* Assists with the preparation of budget projections as a part of annual budget planning and assists in managing the implementation of approved budgets. Monitors ongoing expenditures and recommends budget adjustments.
* Identifies and implements a culture that is conducive to employee growth, performance, loyalty, and development. Implements career training programs, offering staff development opportunities at every level.
* Assists in developing and administering assessments for evaluating and screening positions and developing career path areas for employees.
* Assists in developing and maintaining reports and presentations to effectively monitor, manage, and communicate productivity, effectiveness, quality, progress against goals, and adherence to policies and procedures.
* Improves efficiency of GIS, BI and Data Warehouse programs through the value-added application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Predictive Modeling concepts.
* Supports cross-departmental revenue assurance committee in the pursuit of identification and recovery of areas where revenue is unpursued or uncollected.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
* Bachelor’s degree.
* 7 years of analysis/leadership experience in business intelligence and advanced analytics, geographic information systems, artificial intelligence, budgeting, program controls, revenue assurance, artificial intelligence.
* 7 years of management experience in a high-volume, transaction-based environment.
* 7 years of experience in a process management/process improvement role.
* Strong leadership, management, communications, presentation, business relationship, interpersonal skills.
* Thorough knowledge of business intelligence, cost modeling, process modeling, and data analytics.
* Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, mathematics, or similar field.
* Familiarity with toll collection back-office systems including 5 years’ experience with business analytics.
* 5 years of management/leadership experience in a high-volume, toll transaction-based environment.
* Experience using Artificial Intelligence to enhance business processes.
* Strong working knowledge of data analytics/visualization (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI) and business intelligence applications., geographic information systems, cost modeling, database, and presentations.
