Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Credit Controller is to support the Credit Control Manager in maintaining an accurate and reliable sales ledger for DOC customers. Key responsibilities include:
- Filing and Documentation: Ensure all Point of Sale (POS) files and physical documents are systematically filed and stored on time, maintaining organized records for auditing and reference.
- Payment Allocation: Support the credit control team by allocating payments accurately and following up on any outstanding invoices.
- Substitute Role for DOC Credit Controller: Acquire all necessary skills to effectively step in for the DOC Credit Controller when needed, ensuring continuity and consistency in credit control processes.
- Customer Service Excellence: Implement Kenchic’s customer service strategy with both internal and external customers, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
- Collections Support: Assist the sales team with collections, adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and collaborating with stakeholders to address any outstanding queries or issues.
- Credit Control Policy Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Kenchic’s credit control policies, conducting all necessary checks before processing customer orders raised by the sales team.
- Account Monitoring: Proactively monitor changes in payment patterns among credit accounts and escalate any anomalies in a timely manner.
- Customer and Stakeholder Relationship Management: Foster and maintain excellent relationships with customers and stakeholders, serving as a trusted point of contact for credit-related inquiries.
- Receivables Team Support: Work closely with the Receivables Team to ensure payments are matched daily and accurately recorded.
- Additional Duties: Perform any additional duties assigned by management, contributing to a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Candidate’s Profile
The ideal candidate for the Assistant Credit Controller role should have a background in business and finance, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who possess:
- Education: A business-related degree from a recognized university.
- Professional Certification: Certification in Certified Credit Professional (CCP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in credit control or a finance-related role within a busy environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel for effective business analysis and reporting.
