Job Overview
The Assistant Manager – Project Management Office (PMO) at I&M Bank will oversee the seamless delivery of both short- and medium-term projects, ensuring that all business requirements are met through adherence to defined scopes, timelines, and budgets. The role requires comprehensive project management oversight, encompassing everything from planning and execution to stakeholder management and process optimization. This position will demand close collaboration with senior managers and cross-functional teams to align on project goals, drive progress, and manage resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead Project Initiation: Draft and secure approval for project initiation documents, ensuring all necessary resources and expectations are clarified.
- Scope Definition: Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to establish the scope and deliverables for each project.
- Vendor Selection and Procurement: Manage vendor selection and procurement processes, overseeing contract negotiations to secure required services.
- Quality Assurance: Drive adherence to project management standards and practices, guaranteeing quality across all deliverables.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Coordinate the development of test approaches, prepare test cases, and manage the UAT process for efficient validation.
- Progress Communication: Regularly update project stakeholders on progress, milestones, and any identified risks.
Lead Change and Implement Project Governance
- Change Documentation: Prepare and secure documentation related to data migration and UAT, ensuring approvals are collected and changes are implemented smoothly.
- Transition Management: Oversee post-project transition activities to ensure successful cut-over and service stabilization.
- Project Closure: Complete closure tasks by compiling final reports and conducting reviews to extract lessons learned.
Stakeholder Management
- Engagement: Engage senior managers and project teams regularly, ensuring alignment of objectives and open channels for communication.
- Expectations Management: Address stakeholder needs by coordinating with teams to resolve issues and make strategic decisions about project resources.
- Resource Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders on resource allocation and strategic project direction.
Decision-Making & Accountability
- Budget and Scope Recommendations: Provide input on budget requirements and risk mitigation strategies for ongoing projects.
- Vendor Negotiation: Recommend suitable vendors and participate in contract negotiations to secure the best resources.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on project decisions, timelines, and budget alignment, ensuring transparency.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively address project issues and escalate where necessary by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience: 8-12 years of progressive project management experience, with a record of coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time.
- Certifications: Preference for candidates with PMP, Agile, or other recognized project management certifications.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional multitasking abilities with the capacity to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing stakeholders and leading project teams.
