The Data Administrator will support the Restoring Family Links (RFL) program, which focuses on tracing activities aimed at reuniting family members separated by conflict. If you’re looking to make a tangible impact while working in a dynamic, multicultural environment, this position is for you.
Key Responsibilities
The Data Administrator will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Timely circulation of information: Ensure the accurate and prompt exchange of tracing activity-related information between various delegations and relevant action sites.
- Database updates: Regularly update the ICRC database with newly received tracing cases, ensuring that all closed cases are appropriately marked.
- Data entry: Ensure that all data for Restoring Family Links (RFL) cases is entered in compliance with set procedures and quality standards.
- Data quality control: Conduct regular quality control checks as outlined in the Data Control Procedures to maintain accuracy and integrity.
- Adherence to data protection policies: Strictly follow the ICRC’s data protection policies and guidelines to ensure confidentiality and compliance with global standards.
- Record management: Maintain proper records of data, following established procedures, and ensure the smooth functioning of the data entry processes.
- Oral interpretation: Provide oral interpretation services between Somali and English, and vice versa, when necessary.
- Data analysis and reporting: Assist in analyzing data and generating reports to support data-driven decision-making within the department.
Minimum Qualifications and Required Competencies
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications and demonstrate these key competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Data Administrator in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the humanitarian sector.
- Proficiency in various data management systems and software.
- Strong understanding of Data Protection Policies and how they apply in data-sensitive environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in both English and Somali (written and spoken).
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage data with a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
