Position Overview
The Decentralized Regional Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing kitchen operations, inventory, and meal production across multiple counties in the region. This position ensures that all kitchens are compliant with central guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control measures. The coordinator will regularly audit kitchen processes, collect and analyze operational data, and facilitate training for local teams. By fostering local partnerships and maintaining high operational standards, this role will contribute significantly to Food for Education’s continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations across counties, ensuring adherence to guidelines for preparing both uji and meals.
- Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), hygiene, food safety, and quality control across all kitchen sites.
- Monitor meal production metrics, ensuring kitchens meet key performance indicators (KPIs) for the number of meals cooked and consumed daily.
- Provide training and capacity-building to local program analysts and support teams in areas such as KAIZEN Lean methods, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with local teams to drive continuous improvement in operational practices, while fostering relationships with community leaders and local authorities.
- Plan and conduct regular audits of kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for any issues related to kitchen operations, escalating issues to central management when necessary and following up to ensure timely resolution.
- Work with program analysts and associates to ensure data accuracy regarding meal production, stock usage, and kitchen performance.
- Oversee kitchen stock management, ensuring timely replenishment and accurate record-keeping.
- Coordinate with procurement teams and local vendors to manage inventory, preventing shortages and overstocking.
- Conduct monthly stock takes and reconcile operational data with financial records to ensure accurate reporting.
- Compile and analyze operational data from local kitchens, preparing reports for central management to inform decision-making and improve overall program effectiveness.

- Timely dashboard updates on meal production and kitchen performance.
- Adherence to kitchen stock levels and inventory management processes.
- Compliance with operational and safety standards across all kitchens.
- Timely replenishment of stock with minimal shortages.

- Effectiveness of training programs for local teams.
Desired Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Food and Beverage Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing decentralized operations, preferably within food production or large-scale kitchen environments.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and stock control systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in data management tools and operational reporting systems.
- Willingness to relocate as required by the position.
