About the National Taxpayers Association (NTA)
Established in 2006, NTA is an independent and non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting good governance and ensuring that public service delivery in Kenya is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of its citizens. Over the years, NTA has developed strong partnerships with government agencies, civil society groups, and private sector players to advance our mission of fostering social accountability.
Project Overview: Democracy, Just Societies, and Climate Justice in Kenya
The Democracy, Just Societies, and Climate Justice in Kenya project, supported by OXFAM, aims to build a society where women, young people, and communities live in a just, peaceful, and sustainable country. This project promotes progressive, gender-sensitive revenue-raising measures as part of pro-poor domestic resource mobilization (DRM) strategies. The goal is to advocate for a future where revenue and public budgets are significantly more progressive and inclusive, ultimately reducing inequalities and ensuring no one is left behind.
The project will focus on improving accountability in the public finance management (PFM) cycle and influencing progressive taxation policies. To achieve this, NTA will collaborate with Citizen Accountability Groups (CAGs) to assess the implementation of health sector development projects in Nairobi City County, addressing accountability issues and improving the quality of health services.
