Introduction
City Health Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Officer to manage and oversee the hospital’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. As a key member of the IT department, you will ensure the smooth operation of all IT-related systems and play a vital role in developing, implementing, and supporting IT projects. Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of the IT Officer at City Health Hospital include managing, monitoring, and supporting the IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing IT infrastructure, including network systems, server management, and software applications.
- Ensuring the day-to-day operation and maintenance of IT systems, including the network infrastructure, server architecture, and user workstations.
- Implementing and managing web analytics tools to track website performance and ensure compliance with web accessibility standards.
- Managing and maintaining the hospital’s website and associated web applications to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Developing and enforcing IT policies that guarantee data integrity, security, and compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards.
- Leading the planning and execution of IT projects, including software upgrades, system enhancements, and new technology integrations.
- Providing tier-2/3 technical support for complex IT issues, ensuring problems are resolved efficiently.
- Managing relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure smooth integration and support for IT products and services.
- Conducting regular security audits and implementing measures to protect against cyber threats.
- Implementing security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
- Providing technical support and training to end-users, ensuring staff can effectively use IT resources.
- Managing IT procurement, including hardware, software, and services, to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational needs.
- Ensuring proper backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested regularly.
Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for the role of IT Officer at City Health Hospital, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management and web administration.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and database management (SQL).
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
- Experience with server management, including Linux/Windows server administration and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of network architecture, firewalls, VPNs, and secure communication protocols.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Experience with project management frameworks, such as Agile, Scrum, and ITIL.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in implementing backup systems and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL are desirable but not mandatory.
